As a researcher, Martyna works with epidemiological and clinical data using her bioinformatics and statistical analysis skills. During her MRes in Clinical Research (Imperial College London), Martyna analysed metabolom of severely malnourished children from Uganda as a part of clinical trial investigating effects of nutritional therapy that could improve the gut function. During her PhD, she investigated genetic propensity, socioeconomic position and trajectories of depression with usage of Polygenic Risk Scores. For her PhD project, Martyna is analysing gene expression and diet quality (including food insecurity) during pregnancy and risk of obesity in children. She is passionate about the area of nutrition and precision medicine including genetics and analysis of - omic data.

As a dietitian, Martyna is passionate about gut-brain axis and individualised treatment of dietary problems and evidence-based interventions in the area of mental health and gastroenterology.
Martyna graduated with BSc degree in Nutrition and Dietetics (Jagiellonian University). During her studies she had been engaged in Nutrigenomics Research Society. She was conducting the project analysing mutation in the the vitamin D receptor gene in Parkinson’s Disease. After graduation, Martyna worked as a Specialist Dietitian in the area of gastroenterology (IBS) and mental health (consulting clients diagnosed with anxiety, depression, autism, eating disorders- Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, binge eating disorder, ARFID, learning disabilities, personality disorders) in National Health Service in England.
